About
The author: Jenny is a full time student in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University. Her interest in advocacy for community-based rehabilitation stems from a 3-month embedded learning experience in Maharashtra province, India in 2009, where she saw first hand the outcomes of a community-based primary health care approach in a low income rural population. Jenny's research interests include aging, chronic disease (eg. HIV/AIDS, stroke) and disability, public health ethics, and global health policy.
The assignment: Jenny was tasked to create a self-directed project concerning a global health advocacy topic of her choice. Recognizing the need for greater research engagement with the topic of CBR, she decided to create a website that would introduce the topic to higher level students and technical experts, and provide a rich resource bank from which to proceed.
